The Delaware County Board of Commissioners is currently seeking to appoint one (1) member to the Delaware County District Library Board of Trustees to serve a full term beginning Jan. 1, 2026, and ending Dec. 31, 2029. This public board consists of seven (7) members. Due to a change in state law, as of July 1, 2025, new appointees will now serve four-year terms on the library board. In order to be eligible for appointment, the individual must be a registered voter within the library district or Delaware County.

Responsibilities of a member are:

  • Establishing, adopting, accepting and supporting policies and procedures;
  • Advocating to the budget commission, state legislature, civic and cultural organizations and the public at large;
  • Contributing to the library’s short- and long-term planning, future direction, and overall well-being;
  • Securing and managing funding for operations;
  • Communicating budget needs to the community;
  • Performing public relations functions; and
  • Attending monthly meetings.
