Notice of Upcoming Vacancy – Oxford Township Board of Trustees
The Oxford Township Board of Trustees announces that Trustee James Hatten has submitted his written resignation, effective at the end of day on December 31, 2025.
Trustee Hatten has served the Township for decades, dedicating his time and talents not only as a Township Trustee, but also as a member of the Delaware County Regional Planning Commission, the Cemetery Board, the Fire Board and as a committed Oxford Township firefighter. The Board extends its sincere appreciation for his many years of outstanding service to the community.
Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 503.24, the remaining trustees will fill the vacancy by appointment within 30 days of the effective date. Residents interested in being considered for appointment should send a letter of interest to the Oxford Township Fiscal Officer at fiscal@oxfordtwp.org by January 8, 2026.
The Board thanks Trustee James Hatten for his remarkable service and encourages all residents to join in recognizing his contributions to Oxford Township.

Township Trustee Zoning Boards Meetings
- The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month (as needed) at 7PM
- The Zoning Commission Board will meet the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7PM.

An application has been filed by Timothy Harrel, for a variance, as provided for under Section 31.04 (b) of the Oxford Township Zoning Resolution, to allow for the construction of a 14 x 20 shed on land zoned FR-1. The request asks for a 15′ reduction to the required 25′ side yard setback. The property is located at 8180 Ashley Rd, Ashley, Ohio 43003.Interested persons may appear and voice their opinions with respect thereto.

Township Hall Rental
The Oxford Township Hall is available for rent to township residents and non-residents. There are full kitchen facilities for your use in the township hall. Please contact Leah Curren at 570-394-2175 to make a reservation.
Rental Fees are:
Resident – $50.00 and a security deposit of $100.00.
Non-resident – $250.00 and a security deposit of $100.00.
Please proved two separate checks payable to Oxford Township. Prefer no cash.
The $100.00 security deposit is to cover any damage or additional maintenance, which may result from the renter’s use of the building, shelter or grounds. This security deposit will be refunded in full if the building, shelter or grounds are left in a clean condition and if no damages to the structure or its contents have taken place during the time that the renter used the facilities.
A contract signed by the renter and the $100.00 security deposit must be turned in one month in advance of the event to hold any reservation. If the renter cancels their reservation within seven days of the event, the renter will forfeit the $100.00 security deposit to the township. If the renter cancels prior to seven days of the event, the $100.00 security deposit will be refunded.
Rumpke of Ohio Trash Collections for Township Residents
The Oxford Township Board of Trustees signed a new 5-year contract with Rumpke of Ohio, which will expire on June 30, 2027. The township’s trash collection day will remain on Wednesdays.
Oxford township will continue to pay $20.79 per quarter for each resident and the cost breakdown is as follows:
July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 – Resident $32.70 Township $20.79 Total $53.49 per quarter
July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 – Resident $34.35 Township $20.79 Total $55.14 per quarter
July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 – Resident $36.06 Township $20.79 Total $56.85 per quarter
July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 – Resident $37.86 Township $20.79 Total $58.65 per quarter
July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 – Resident $39.75 Township $20.79 Total $60.54 per quarter
